Grain, dairy, and member governance on the prairie—not a coastal ESG slogan course.
Online or on campus

Midwest cooperatives are firms with members, not NGOs with a harvest aesthetic. This MSc treats patronage, equity revolvement, and elevator operations as the core, and treats ‘sustainability’ as storage, energy, and labour facts rather than a logo wall. You will map a harvest surge against rail and truck capacity, cost a winter energy bill for drying, and explain why a coastal case on ‘regenerative branding’ does not replace a board packet. Crownshire University is in York because the metro is where many co-op headquarters, lenders, and commodity desks actually meet, while members farm Greater Minnesota and neighbouring states. Dual-pathway applicants name online or campus primary mode. Identity-checked exams prevent a second, easier award for remote students. Campus field conversations, if scheduled, are optional logistics, not a hidden assessment that online students cannot complete. You will read a member equity revolvement schedule the way a plant reads a maintenance backlog: as a promise with cash consequences. Cases include dairy, grain, and farm-supply co-ops that still run annual meetings in school gyms. Faculty will penalise a capstone that swaps a California almond brand narrative onto a Minnesota elevator without changing the operating constraints. Winter energy, labour, and rail are not colour; they are the model. The degree is academic. It is not a licence to buy grain, not a USDA job, not a claim that HLC or DEAC designed the co-op curriculum. Public copy must stay inside that fence.
Thirty-six credits: cooperative law-and-governance literacy, commodity and operations, member finance, and a supervised agribusiness capstone. Three-credit courses. Board memos plus identity-checked assessment.
