Crownshire University Opens the Low-Cost Online MBA Intake
Crownshire University is enrolling for the online MBA. The full award is priced in the low published band — £600 to £900 in total, paid at £300 per semester — and it is the same degree taught on campus in Manchester, with the same faculty, the same rubrics and the same external examiners.
The MBA is built for people who already lead: a P&L, a team, a clinical service, a family business, a public office. The taught core covers financial decision-making, managerial economics, marketing, operations and supply chain, strategy, ethics and governance, and business analytics. It ends with a capstone strategic consulting project on the student's own organization, defended to faculty and practitioners.
"The online MBA is not a lighter MBA," the program leader said. "It is the same degree with the travel removed and the price kept low, because a working manager should not take a large loan to get better at a job they already do."
James Whitfield, a civil servant in Manchester, reframed a capstone as a board paper and was appointed to a wider remit three months after submission. "The degree did the intellectual work," they said. "It did not cost me a mortgage payment a month."
Applying online is free (£20 for the on-campus pathway). After an offer is accepted, the first semester fee confirms the place. Fee assistance is available for eligible students. Live clinics run in more than one time zone; recordings and transcripts are provided the same day.
Applicants should show managerial responsibility, comfort with quantitative work, and a specific organizational problem they intend to solve. A statement of purpose, transcripts where available, and a short account of current work complete the file. Offers are issued on a rolling basis; the application is at /apply.
Staff across admissions, registry, teaching and student services are told to design every process as if the default student is studying after a full day's work: recorded sessions, published rubrics, named advisers, and a library desk that does not close at the end of one country's office hours. Crownshire will not pretend a program is light. Applicants should plan their weekly hours before accepting an offer and ask direct questions at the open webinars if a page reads as vague.
Crownshire University is a UK university built for ambitious learners, online or on campus. Founded in 1953 and recognised by the Office for Students, it publishes news that is operational rather than ceremonial: what changed in a program, who can apply, how assessment works, how fees work, and how students get help. Questions about the claims in this article should go to the office named as author above.
